Easter in Brazil and the United States

In Brazil
Easter is one of the main religious festivals celebrated in Brazil and worldwide. For Christian people, represents the resurrection of Christ. Statue of Liberty



The Statue of Liberty (in English: The Statue of Liberty, in French: Statue  de la Liberté), officially Liberty Enlightening the World (English: Liberty Enlightening the World, French: La liberté éclairant le monde), is a monument located in entrance to the Port of New York since October 28, 1886,. Celebrates the centenary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States and is a gesture of friendship from France to the United States. Designed and built by sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi Alsatian (1834-1904), which was based on the Colossus of Rhodes to build it. To build the internal metallic structure of the statue, Bartholdi was attended by French engineer Gustave Eiffel, the same architect of the Eiffel Tower.

Moreover, it is located the headquarters of the United Nations and is also an important center for international business. The city is often referred to as New York City or City of New York, to differentiate it from the New York State, which is a part.

March 8 International Women's Day


The International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8, originates manifestations of women for "Bread and Peace" - for better conditions of living and working against the entry of their country in WWI. These events marked the beginning of the Revolution of 1917.
